Pennsylvania State Police at Wyoming said they have received at least nine reports this month of a scam in which callers pose as a grandchild who has been arrested.

A second caller then claims to be an attorney and arranges for a “courier” to collect cash bail at the victim’s home.

  • Police and courts do not collect bail by courier.
  • Hang up and call the relative directly.
  • Report attempts to your local police department.
