We started as a field team covering breaking news live on Facebook. East Coast Wire is the newsroom built around that audience: verified local reporting from the Wyoming Valley and Northeastern Pennsylvania, plus the East Coast stories that reach our neighbors.

Standards & corrections

  • We verify information with official records, named sources or our own reporting before publishing.
  • We identify people charged with crimes as accused, not guilty, and we follow cases through to the outcome.
  • Opinion is labeled as opinion. Sponsored content is labeled as sponsored. Advertisers never influence news coverage.
  • When we get something wrong, we correct it and note the correction on the story.

To report an error, email news@example.com with the story link.

Letters to the editor

We welcome letters of up to 300 words on local issues. Include your name and town; we verify authorship before publishing. Send letters to news@example.com.

How we’re funded

Advertising, sponsorships, affiliate links and reader subscriptions processed by Stripe. See our disclosures for details.
